Green and gold also called golden star, is a "star" in the garden. The flowers are bright yellow with green eyes. Green and gold's blossoms light up the garden, it flowers profusely in the spring for a long time and if happy flowers again sporadically in the fall.

The leaves are dark green, toothed arrow shaped. The plant quickly fills in and makes a nice carpet, It spreads by sending out new shoots that quickly root into moist soil. Green and gold like shade or part sun and doesn't like wet soil. Green and gold will tolerate dry shade and I often recommend it for people with dry shade.

Green and gold looks stunning with wild columbine, blue phlox and dwarf crested iris. They all will take dry shade and this combination is great for humming birds and butterflies.

Green and gold is easily propagated by division and will quickly take hold if it is kept watered while rooting-in. You can't go wrong planting this wonderful plant in your garden.
